Artificial Plants Paired with Wall Mounted Planters
Sharp Grossmont Hospital, San Diego
When asked to help remodel the front of Sharp Grossmont Hospital's multi-level parking garage, we were happy to work with them to achieve a look that matched the modern design of this San Diego-based hospital. Because the front of the parking garage, where the redesign was to take place, is highly visible to people entering and exiting the hospital grounds, the revamped design needed to be aesthetically pleasing and cohesive with Sharp's design and brand.
After working with Sharp's designer, we came up with a contemporary design that mixed clean lines and vibrant greenery in a sophisticated pattern. We started by mounting some durable designer wall panels, made of long-lasting fiberglass from our sister brand Planters Unlimited. Using the Washed Pine woodgrain design, we custom-fit these panels to fit on the three separated sections on building face. The design of these panels mixed the industrial beauty of concrete with the natural charm of wood. And since the panels are made of fiberglass, the same material amusement parks use for various designs, they weather the elements beautifully - and for years.
Custom Design Specifications
In keeping with this modern design theme, we designed a contemporary checkerboard pattern with Madera rectangular planters from Planters Unlimited. Also made from damage-resistant, lightweight fiberglass, these planters have the rustic appearance of wood, but in a linear, modern silhouette. Hung securely with heavy-duty French cleat hangers, these planters were completed with a custom designed plantscape from our lifelike faux plants. And unlike live plants suspended in this hard-to-water place (which would be impossible to maintain), these realistic-looking artificial plants will always look fresh and beautiful no matter the season, and with zero care.
We were happy to help Sharp Grossmont Hospital achieve the look they were after, despite a few changes to the initial design in order to accommodate architectural features on the building and keep within their budget. At the end of the day, they were excited about their new design, and continue to use us as their commercial design source for new projects!
